If there’s ever a tour that’s going to give you a fresh dose of wanderlust, we’re afraid the Hôtel Providence Paris is going to be the one. The building was originally built in 1854 and the hotel opened two years ago, with 18 rooms between the six floors. It’s located in the Eastern district of Paris in a neighborhood that is constantly changing and where there is always something to do. The hotel manager, Pauline Déramond, shares that their owner, Pierre Moussié, “has always been interested in the growing areas of Paris!” He came from the restaurant world, but upon seeing the building he fell in love with the space and decided to try his hand at a boutique hotel.
Amazingly, Pierre and the other owners — Elodie Moussié and Sophie Richard — opted to design everything themselves and not hire an interior designer or firm, and the results are enviable. The bar and restaurant are incredibly inviting, as are the rooms that feel both storied and historic despite being technically new, with all the modern amenities one may need. With features like a bar in every room, wall coverings that feel like they’ve been there for a hundred years, and beautiful antique furniture from all over Europe, we’re sure you’ll also dream of sinking into one of those beds/bathtubs/club chairs! —Rebekah
