S Apartment is a minimal apartment created by Singapore-based design firm Right Angle Studio. The two-story apartment, which is situated alongside a river canal, is configured to maximize both function and mobility. A wall was raised toward the entrance in order to maintain the privacy of the clients and provide clear separation between itself and the rest of the home.
A series of sliding oak panels serve as strategic partitions to allow the living, dining, and public areas to function independently. A planted pot at the apartment’s core spreads into the upper level, creating a mini indoor courtyard within the apartment that is unobstructed to natural light and ventilation.
As stated by the designers, “Clean and uncluttered, pristine white walls and light oak elements form a pure language that is apparent throughout the entire space.” The light oak element is even seen on a descended ceiling in the main living area to give the impression of a larger space. A generously spaced bar counter sits quietly at the back, perfect for a series of gathering and hosting activities.
