One of the things I find most fascinating about trends these days is the way they seem to affect not just one creative community, but several. What’s popular in interiors often pops up in food (and vice verse) and what happens in fashion finds its way into beauty and even homes. So today I took a look at our 10 top Instagram hashtag photos of all time. These colorful photos represent over 300,000 likes and thousands of comments and they told me a lot about what our community is drawn to and how those styles, colors and trends connect to interiors as well. So today I’m playing match-maker and pairing up your favorite Instagram photos of all time (from our DS challenge feeds) with interiors that feel like their doppelgängers. Fro ombre faded carrots (matched with an ombre faded children’s room) to floral patterns and soft pinks galore, these photos remind me how powerful design can me across such a wide range of practices. –Grace
Image above: @eastolivia ‘s photo of an amazing balloon installation by @geronimo has the same jubilant and hyper-colorful spirit of Amina’s LA loft.
Image above: The colorful ombre food photos of @wrightkitchen remind me of one of my favorite interiors: Joy Thigpen’s daughter’s bedroom.
Image above: The incredible leaf pattern in this moth photo by @rizkiw_ reminds me of the patterned wallpaper in Celine and Justin’s MCM home.
