This week has been a total whirlwind of launching our brand new book-a-zine, Good Company, getting ready to leave for events next week (come see us in LA, Chicago and Detroit!) and working on the second issue of Good Company, coming out this October. But it’s been so much fun to see this new print project out in the world and coming to life.
Before I pack up and head out for LA this weekend, I wanted to share some of my favorite links from around the web in hopes that they might be of interest for you, too! Determined: This post and this interview with the world’s oldest female bodybuilder in the world, Ernestine Shepard, was the best thing I read this week. “Determined. Dedicated. Disciplined. I follow those three D’s every day of my life. From those three D’s, you can accomplish so much.”
Belize: SFgirl took a trip to Belize and it basically looked as dreamy as I’ve always imagined. I want to go, please.
Latino USA: I am fully obsessed with and thankful for all things Latino USA. This podcast is my absolute must-listen, for serious and light-hearted topics. This week’s episode on the smash hit Scooby Doo Papa and its origin was great.
You’re Not Alone: This piece that includes advice from therapists on what to do when you feel lonely is a really good read. The advice ranges all over the place but speaks to a wide range of issues that plague a lot of people in today’s digital era, myself included. “If you’re lonely because your relationships lack depth/meaning, or you feel like people, including friends, don’t really know you, it might make sense to examine what’s getting in the way of building intimacy. “
Blues: This budget-friendly blue-forward kitchen at Remodelista is my favorite kitchen color palette.
Coming Out: This video piece at them. is a beautiful look at the coming out process and what it was like for several Black LGBTQ+ people and their families.
Pink4ever: Tracee Ellis Ross reminds us all, yet again, that pink will forever be the happiest color. At least to all of us at DS.
