After publishing thousands of home tours, we’ve had more than a few sourcing and paint color questions. So we thought it would be helpful to create a Source List resource and have it live in our Shopping section, where we post product roundups, gift guides and other coverage of the home goods market and indie shops. With our Source List posts, you’ll get a snapshot view of the tour, some visual montaged highlights of the home’s décor and shoppable links. You can see an example here.
Hopefully, you’ll be able to use our Source Lists to quickly locate objects of desire from your favorite home tours and be able to pin some of the images (like the one below) on your Pinterest inspiration boards. You can also pin an image of the pieces directly from their source pages, too, since we’ll be providing links directly to shops where the item is sold.
We’ll try our best to provide links for the actual home goods in our home tours whenever possible and available from their original source. If something isn’t available where it was purchased by the homeowner, we’ll save you some Internet search time and link to similar pieces. If that’s the case, it will be noted in the list! We thought it would be helpful to also provide some DIY instructions to achieve similar looks on some pieces or projects seen in the homes.
Since Facebook is changing up their algorithms constantly and we’ve noted our posts being seen less frequently, we’re exploring a few new platforms, where the goal is simply to provide our readers with another way to access our content and to help you source products that may not be easily found on huge sites like Amazon.
We’re adding helpful tips and products we love to our Amazon Idea Lists and we’ll be adding some well-reviewed pieces from our home tours there, too. You’ll also find some other content and product recommendations you won’t find here on our main site, like our Cold Weather Kitchen prep list. So if you’re an avid Amazon shopper, check out our lists for some quick and easy sourcing for furniture, home décor and DIY supplies, like our recent Fritillaria Paper Flower DIY shopping list (shown below).
If you have any suggestions on how we can help you discover or source pieces for your home, please let us know in the comments section! And if you’re an Amazon Prime member with an iPhone, we’re curious to know if you use Amazon Spark on your mobile device? We just joined and would love to get your take on it!
