Lindsey and Laurel White live on Lindsey’s Resort, a fishing resort that they manage in Heber Springs, AR. The resort was originally founded by Lindsey’s grandfather in 1965 — his grandmother stocked the first trout in the river. When Lindsey and Laurel eventually started managing the business, they had no intentions on living smack in the middle of the resort. However, the 20-year-old cabin that Lindsey’s grandfather had built on the property was available to rent and perfect for their needs. Lindsey and Laurel, who dated for 11 years before they eloped last year, now love living on the resort. They truly cherish waking up to a view of trees and being surrounded by nature — being home together at lunchtime is an added bonus! Laurel, whose passions are decorating and helping friends style their homes, has made it her mission to fill her and Lindsey’s cabin with amazing thrift store finds and pieces that add to the homey, lived-in feel.
“When I walk into our home, I feel like it’s an oasis amidst our very busy schedule,” she explains. She’s all about finding things that both serve a purpose and look good — with limited space, keeping things functional is a definitive must. “I have learned that it doesn’t matter where you live or how long you’re planning on staying in your home, there are always easy changes you can make, so that your home reflects who you are and what you love, no matter the budget,” she adds. Whether they’re sipping coffee at the kitchen counter-turned-dining table, or enjoying a couple of Lindsey’s renowned margaritas on the porch, one thing’s for sure — Lindsey and Laurel have created a space where they both feel extremely loved and incredibly at home. —Sofia
